Estación(alizar): The new Chamartín Station
This project is born in the context of the situation of Madrid Nuevo Norte, and on the necessary reflexion that we must carry out on what the Chamartín station must be and what it must mean for Madrid. The concept of territorialization refers to returning cultural, economic and social ties to a territory that seems to have lost them, to channel it into what it intends to destroy. To extract from the territory a construction related to climate, perceptions and landscapes. This is what the Chamartín station should be.
In the 21st century, stations must once again become active city centres. The station must be a building where all flows converge, where all differences in elevation manifest and blur. It must be a building that knows how to adapt to the rhythm of the city, to its needs and movements. It must be impregnated with the city's museums, parks and squares.
Chamartín station should be nothing other than Madrid.
