Museum in the island of Torcello, Venice

The relationship of the island of Torcello, in Venice, with the canals, makes evident the continuous reference in the museum to water, as one of the main elements, and to the light coming from the south, which floods the interior of the museum.

This is presented as a round piece of concrete, in reference to the ancient stone structures that populate the island. The wave-like undulating roof allows the reflection of light, which enters the interior in a diffuse manner.

This roof is occasionally interrupted by elements that directly capture light at different points in the day, and that allow isolated rooms to be illuminated within the museum where pieces of special relevance to the island are exhibited.

The museum aims to be memory, reflection and homage to Torcello, the marshes and their history.
